We recently published an article looking at the data behind the Greater Toronto Area real estate market and it proved to be more popular than we expected. Because of this, we decided to publish as much of that real estate data as we can in order to allow you to review the numbers for yourselves and make your own conclusions. There are lots of opinions about real estate in Toronto but many of them aren’t backed up by the numbers, so we hope this data can help you to become more informed about real estate here in the GTA.
All the real estate numbers and statistics we list were taken from monthly reports released by the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB). We looked at every single monthly report going all the way back to July 2007 (marking exactly ten years back from when we started to look at the data), so the numbers listed on this page are as listed by TREB at the time of release. Some of the data wasn’t available as far back as 2007 so, in those cases, we have included as much as we could find. With each new release by TREB, we will update the charts on this page with the latest data, so we invite you to return back and review at your convenience.
The data is split up into areas. At the top, we have data that covers all home types in the Greater Toronto Area. This covers all the areas under the auspices of TREB – going as far as Simcoe County in the North, Halton region in the West, and Durham Region in the east. Further down the page, we have charts with data for detached home sales in the Greater Toronto Area.
