Many people talk about real estate in Toronto but claims often aren’t backed up by facts. We hope to change that by providing Toronto real estate data for you to review, analyse and draw conclusions from. This is just one part of our series looking at real estate data for the entire GTA, but takes a more detailed look at the City of Toronto.
To obtain this Toronto real estate data, we looked back through every monthly report released by the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) since July 2007. We felt that ten years’ worth of data should be enough to give a good overview of the real estate market, common trends, patterns, and anomalies. TREB changed the boundaries it uses in July 2011 and has been using them since then – defining specific areas, zones and towns within Toronto and the GTA. Because of this, the Toronto real estate data below shows information from that point onwards.
Among the Toronto real estate data below, we have provided charts showing important information such as average home prices in Toronto, number of sales, year-on-year price gains, and more. It is our hope that reading through these Toronto housing statistics and analysing the numbers will give everyone a better understanding of the real estate market and help to clear up many common misunderstandings. In turn, we hope this can help make our readers more informed buyers and sellers of Toronto real estate.
Since the numbers below come from TREB’s monthly reports, we will update the charts on a monthly basis, shortly after the latest Toronto real estate data is released. We, therefore, encourage you to come back and visit this page often in order to get the latest real estate numbers for Toronto.
We hope that you find the charts interesting and informative.
