MARKHAM – The Markham Event Centre played host to a very special Chinese New Year dinner on February 24, organized by Mayor Frank Scarpitti and a number of leaders in Markham’s Chinese community.
This year’s dinner marked the third anniversary of the annual event, and was certainly the biggest and most highly-attended to date – drawing a turnout of approximately 1000 guests!
Living Realty was proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the event, which was a huge success thanks to the involvement of many other sponsors as well as volunteers from Markham’s Chinese-Canadian community.

In addition to dinner for all guests, the evening’s festivities included dancers, speeches and games. Mayor Scarpitti was even joined by Mr. Fang Li, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Toronto, for a special karaoke rendition of two beloved Chinese songs.
The whole event was for a good cause, as proceeds went towards helping the efforts of three charitable organizations: Across U-Hub, the Centre for Information & Community Services, and ALS Canada.
